MuLe! Really :)

My husband has recently become the proud owner of a small black mule. Yes I said mule. He has rode horses his entire life and suddenly has become interested in roping off a mule. So he bought one. I don't know a lot about the differences between a horse and a mule when it comes to breaking them, I'm not sure that Ryan does either but he is giving it a shot. Ryan is also known for training his horses to go anywhere and do anything he asks them to, he is attempting this with mule as well. Well he was riding the other day at his parents, we are too poor to have our horses at our house, he was making the mule walk up the back steps when it started raining. Well he had the brilliant idea to get in the horse trailer and wait out the storm, that's when he did something stupid. HE GOT ON THE MULE INSIDE THE HORSE TRAILER! Well he was riding it around inside and made the mule walk out. Well he, the mule, did well so Ry thought he would try it again. The mule got in the trailer and spun around and jumped out the of the trailer and started bucking. Well for those of you that don't know mules they have a smaller shoulders so you have to use a britching so the saddle doesn't go over there shoulders. THE BRITCHING DIDN'T WORK. The saddle slid far enough forward that it inhibited Ryan from pulling the head around,so the mule started spinning. Needless to say Ryan came off the mule:) Ry has two huge bruises on his thighs from the swells on the saddle! I wish I could have seen it. Ry's mom freaked out and his friend Matt got a pretty good kick out of it! I'm never there when the action happens. Better luck next time :)

I am glad we just stick with horses and ponies. I have heard some pretty crazy stories about mules. Good luck to him for trying to train him though. And I am glad he didn't get hurt too bad.
