My Family: My heart and soul

Family, the dictionary describes it as a basic social unit consisting of parents and their children, considered a group, whether dwelling together or not (dictionary.com, 2011). But family is so much more, family is unconditional love, family is home, family is support, family is life. I am overwhelmed with how much I love my family. In the words of my sister Lacy, family isn't just a mom and dad and their babies, family is grandmas and grandpas and aunts and uncles and cousins and even friends. I pity those in this world who have decided not to have children, for they know not what they are missing. There is no better feeling in the world than to have a little one sqeal with delight at your presence, to hear their giggles for the other room, or to see the light of discovery and understanding in their eyes. Sometimes I fear that my family will tire of my phone calls and invitations, my text messages and drop ins, but at the end of the day I still feel like I don't get to see them as much as I would like to.
