Renaissance Maddness
What an experience! Ryan and I took my little brothers to the renaissance festival this weekend. They have it right across the street from Ryan's house and over this weekend and last we could hear people screaming and cheering, so we thought we would check it out. You had to park about a half a mile away from the festival and walk in. I expected the people participating to be dressed up but come to find out, if you were dressed up you got a dicount. We encountered a lot of big bare bellies and a lot of corset cleavage. The main reason we wanted to go was because we had heard rumors that they had real life jousting. We figured it would be interesting to see and if nothing else a good laugh. It turned out to be two farely over weight men on clydesdales. They were dressed in the whole shebang. Armor and all. When they first started I was sure some one was going to turf it. They were bouncing everywhere in their saddles and I was just waiting for one to face plant, but it never happened. They began the joust by hitting a target, it was pretty boring. Then when the real jousting began it got pretty entertaining. They jousted about six or seven times and each time the joust itself would shatter. I would never go to the festival again but it was an ok one time thing. The only thing I regret is forgetting my camera.

"Will Race For Boobies!"
Another race came and went and we had a lot of fun. One of our favorite things to do while we walk is read all the interesting t-shirts. Here are the top few for 2008:
- "Save the Ta-tas"
- "Will Race for Boobies"
- "Blue Footed Boobies"
- "Big or Small, Let's Save Em All!"
There were plenty of others but those are the ones that caught my attention. It is always an emotional time for my family. After the race is finished all the survivors gather together and do a survivor march. They walk around the top level of the gateway and then pose on the stairs for pictures. They even let about 100 white dove loose. It was really quite amazing. My mom is a surviovor of eight years and I am very thankful to have her in my life. What a woman!! So to all of you out there make sure you get your mammograms every year and do your monthly self exams. Early detection is the key! Heres to the next eight years MAMA. Love YA!

RACE FOR THE CURE
Tomorrow is the Race for the Cure in SLC. All the women in my family participate every year in celebration of my mother. She will be an 8 YEAR SURVIVOR in June! We have all put pink in our hair and I can't wait until tomorrow. If you haven't donated yet here is your last chance: http://www.active.com/donate/komenslc2008/kslcSMark
It's a great cause and eighty percent of your donation stay right here in Utah.
